Professor Dr Heinze is the Chair for General Sociology, labour and economic sociology. This role deals with the change of welfare societies and the main focus of research and teaching covers the following topics:
Change towards a service society, new sectors and growth potentials (including social services such as the care sector and the silver economy, cultural and creative industries, medical technology and eHealth)
Change of economic structures and regional innovation systems (including the interlacing of economy and science, new forms of employment, heterogenization of Germany as a place for business, start ups)
Development perspectives of modern welfare states and civic societies (including the change of social structure, restructuring of the sectors market-state-civic society in an international comparison, management of social innovations, new governance structures, social entrepreneurship)

Main tasks attributed to them in the project
In this project the team will be involved in Built and technological environment. This contains:
The trend-monitoring for five different countries (Finland, Germany, Poland, Spain, United-Kingdom) covering housing.
The analysis of ten case studies of best-practice examples for housing and to conduct a SWOT-analysis for each topic, generating recommendations for economic, political and public stakeholder.
The preparation of a trend-report for housing.
Short profile of all personnel and previous relevant experience
Professor Dr Rolf G Heinze has been a full professor at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum since 1989. Among his main research areas are housing and industrial sociology, networked habitation, demographic change and the possibilities of telemedicine. His most recent related projects are „Service4Home – Dienstleistungskoordination durch mikrosystemtechnisch gestützte Informationseingabe” and „Social Entrepreneurship im etablierten Wohlfahrtsstaat: Lückenbüßer oder Innovationsinkubator?“.
Claudia Ruddat is post-doc researcher at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum. She has recently been involved in research projects investigating innovations in welfare states and local administrations as well as a project on the development of housing-districts for the needs of the elderly.
Fabian Hoose is researcher at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum. His research topics are economic sociology, entrepreneurship and regional innovation systems as well as the constitution of new economic sectors (especially the creative industries). He has been working in research projects on structural change regarding the demographic development in different German regions.
